Yarra Council is proposing to re-zone over 22,000 properties across Yarra (including Fitzroy North) into a new flood overlay. Like in Brisbane right now, this could significantly increase the price of home insurance. This will affect us all whether we are home owners or renters. I promise, if elected, to push Council very hard to INVEST in maintaining and upgrading our stormwater drians rather than simply re-zoning. Not just for us now but for those who will follow us in the future.
