In Dec 2019, the previous Council removed over 70 parking spots in Elizabeth St Richmond (between Hoddle and Church Streets) to build a 12 month trial bike lane.
Bike lanes are an important part of our transport mix but the needs of the local residents were ignored.
No consultation was done.
6 years later, this new Council is designing a permanent bike lane that still protects bike riders but returns much needed parking spots.
Residents and visitors to the Chùa Phước Tường Buddhist Temple are finally being listened to.
