Melbourne Water have released their new flood maps.
This year alone, Council is spending $4 million on Yarra’s stormwater drains.
But Yarra is over 100 years old and our drains were built for a different time.
We have over 100,000 people living here now and we’re expected to double by 2050.
We’ll do our best but we’re facing a future of more and bigger storms from climate change.
We’re going to need help and investment from State Government.
Otherwise YOU could ending up paying more to insure your home from flooding.
